LiFePo4 Batteries

The lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO 4) battery, also called LFP battery (with "LFP" standing for "lithium ferrophosphate"), is a type of rechargeable battery, specifically a lithium-ion battery, which uses LiFePO 4 as a cathode material, and a graphitic carbon electrode with a metallic current collector grid as the anode. The specific capacity of LiFePO 4 is higher than that of the related lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO 2) chemistry, but its energy density is slightly lower due to its low operating voltage.(Wikipedia)

See LiFePO4 Care Guide for more details.
Charging explained in a brochure of CTEK.

For SOTA I have now this 4.5 Ah Battery, see data sheet (in german)
First test at home with my two Alinco DR-x38 was very successfully. I had a lot of QSOs during two hours (also some with 45W on 2m) and the battery was not totally exhausted.
